History of our Farm and Farmhouse
Our farm:
The Hubergut, formerly known as the „Huebgut“, has been in existence since the 17th century. „Hueb“ according to ancient tradition was the name for a large estate. Our farm covers a total area of 37 hectares, of which 8 hectares are forest and 29 hectares fields and meadows.

My father’s family: uncle Hansi, grandma Theresia, aunt Thresi, uncle Sepp (foster son), grandpa Hans and my father Willi Buchsteiner. My father originates from the Huber Farm in Radstadt. My grandmother Theresia Dax, born in Pfarrwerfen originates from the Höring Farm in St. Johann. On the 7th May 1934 she married my grandfather, Johann Buchsteiner, who took over the Huber Farm in January 1934. Hans still helps out on the farm and has life-long right of abode. |

My mother’s family: grandpa Wastl, grandma Lisi, aunt Marlies, my mother Anni (Nani), uncle Wasti, aunt Barbara Mayrhofer. My mother originates from Grosstaxer Farm in Radstadt. My grandfather Sebastian Mayrhofer originates from the Kaspar Farm. In 1944 he married the farmer’s daughter and successor to the Grosstaxer Farm, Elisabeth Walchhofer. |
