A real hit – an excursion to our own Hintergnadenalm mountain hut near Obertauern
Our mountain inn is situated at an altitude of 1,326 m above sea-level between Untertauern and Obertauern and is worth a visit at any time of year. Savour a hearty snack during a stop at our alm - a well-earned and nourishing treat.
In summer the Hintergnadenalm is the starting point for great walks such as:
- to the impressive "Johannes waterfall" (approx. 20 minutes walk)
- up to the popular "Südwienerhütte" (approx. 1 hour’s walk)
Around the Gnadenalm in wintertime you can make all your winter dreams come true. Have fun sledging on the toboggan run, enjoy a guided snow-shoe walk or a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride. The Gnadenalm high alpine trail is perfect for all cross country skiers. Here you’ll find approx. 15 km of marked classic and skating trails of all levels of difficulty.
How to reach our mountain inn:
- Location: between Untertauern and Obertauern
- after the "Gnaden waterfall" turn right (signpost)
- approx. 2 km along the high valley on a wide footpath (ideal for pushchairs – accesible by car)
